The London Soaring Society is a not-for-profit flight school and sporting club that has been serving the greater London area for over 50 years.

We are entirely run by our members on a volunteer basis and operate (weather permitting) from around 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from early spring to late fall.

Flying in a glider is one of the purest aviation experiences there is. On a good day, a skilled pilot can stay aloft for hours and travel hundreds of kilometers on nothing but the air currents.

Experience one of the purest aviation experiences there is! Take a ride in a glider, soar like a bird, see breathtaking views from 3000 feet up, and maybe try the controls! If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, or flying is on your bucket list, be sure to try gliding!

For yourself, or gift to the aviator/adventurer in your life (spouse, child, friend, etc.), we offer a day membership to experience a 20-30minute flight for $220 (HST included).

4-Pack Instruction Trial Membership

Try a thrilling new sport/hobby of flying! (It’s cheaper than you think!). Or are you already a pilot? Try soaring as an exhilarating sport and enhance your piloting skills by harnessing thermals for lift! This “pure” kind of flying is easy to convert with your power license.

For those thinking they may want to get their glider pilot license (GPL), we offer a trial membership to experience four instructional flights for $550 (HST included). It can be fully credited towards a full membership minus the cost of the four flights.

Joining the club

Full membership includes glider rental, instruction/training, and a Soaring Association of Canada (SAC) membership. It is $1,880 (HST included) plus $50 per flight (HST included). The prices for first-time members are pro-rated starting July 1st.

There is a $600 discount if you have your own glider and will not be flying the club aircraft or if additional family members join. Bursaries are available to help motivated youth cover per-flight costs. Member and public donations for these bursaries are much appreciated and are tax deductible. The Women Soaring Pilots Association also offers several scholarships for new and experienced female pilots.
